Narcolepsy is a well known sleeping disease where the patient tends to fall asleep at the most inopportune moments. It is rarely seen in animals or in humans.
Mable, an eight-month-old Mongrel pup has been diagnosed with narcolepsy. According to a dog expert, Mable is suffering from canine narcolepsy, an incurable condition that is extremely rare.
While most dogs like fetching balls and sticks, chewing bones and being partial to the odd buiscuit, Mable prefers to curl up and have a snooze.
Staff at an animal rehousing centre claims that Mable is physically healthy but she is suffering from the incurable disease. The Dogs Trust at Newbury, Berks, where she is presently admitted is looking for someone that can adopt Mable and give her the care that she needs.
Maureen Iggledon, Manager of the rehousing centre, said: " Mable is an adorable, fluffy little bundle of fun, a real character. She is looking for a special home where her owners can spend time with her and her condition can be managed. She just needs a lot of patience, love and care. "
