Pompoochi pups come to Britain

The latest must have in the world of the ‘it girl’ is the Pompoochi puppy.

These dogs are a cross between a poodle, a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian and there are only two pups in the UK at the moment.

They only grow to eight inches tall so are small enough to be carried in a small handbag . When born they resembled a hamster and could fit into the palm of a hand.

The only examples of the pups in the UK called Paris and Hilton were born 10 weeks ago to a poodle Chihuahua mother and a pedigree Pomeranian father.

The pair, two brothers sold for £500 each. The breeder Fi Reynolds, 45, from Shepton Mallet, Somerset is hoping to breed more in the future.

She said, "They’re fantastic. Nobody knows what they are when they first see them. Some people think they’re hedgehogs and some think they’re baby bears. They’re like little balls of fluff and feel like cotton wool.

"Small dogs are trendy at the moment so I thought I would have some fun trying to create a new breed. People will love them."

Fi a pet lover crossed a rottweiler with a boxer last year to produce seven baby roxxers.

She went on to say "The Pompoochies are amazing. I worry that buzzards will eat them when they are in the garden .

"They are named after Paris Hilton but they are far cuter than her pet Chihuahua Tinkerbell."
