Family Pet Dog Lucky to be Alive

Mon, 24 Dec 2007

A family’s pet dog has amazingly survived after being impaled on a fourteen inch stick. The two year old Rottweiler had been chasing after the stick which his owner had thrown for him when the stick bounced back up and pierced the dog’s skin as he jumped to catch it.

City, a flixton, required a 90 minute operation and 17 stitches, is said to be in good health and will have made a near-full recovery in time for Christmas. Mr Mcnaull, head vet at the Buchanan Veterinary Group in Urmston, is reported to have said that City was extremely lucky to have survived, owing his lucky escape to the fact the stick missed his major organs.
