Fylde Coasters are the new team of canine racers who shone in the Flyball European Championships 2007.

Flyball is a new growing hobby of relay racing for dogs.

In the competition two adjacent racing lanes are set up for the competing teams and the winning team is the one that has all its four dogs correctly completing the jumps and retrieving a ball.

Nearly 20 dogs from Fylde coast took part in the continental competition at Loseley Park near Guildford .

The Fylde Coasters were coached by their captain, Daniella Mann, a Blackpool teacher and were matched against teams from all over England, Belgium and Germany .

The Coasters proved themselves as the best by winning every race. They won the first place trophy and achieved a time very near to the team all time personal best, which is 19.77 seconds.

Jo Croswell, a member of the team, said, "So often when we hear about dogs it's about fouling or fighting but this is a positive and promotes interaction and teamwork in the dogs and responsible ownership."
