A blind Scottish man and his guide dog are taking an initiative to raise funds for the charity .
Scott Cunningham from Larkhall, and his Labrador, Travis will participate in a sponsored annual trek in May to raise money for the charity, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. They will follow the Pennine Way route which is the UKs most difficult treking routes.
Setting off from Edale in Derbyshire, the pair will walk 270 miles in about 16 days, and will finish at Kirk Yetholm, near Kelso.
Scott said, "Since I was partnered with Travis in 2003, he has given me the inspiration to tackle challenges I didn't think were possible."
"The treks have also made Travis the first guide dog to have successfully tackled the three biggest long-distance walks in Scotland - the West Highland Way, Speyside Way and Southern Upland Way."
"On our latest trek we hope to raise as much money as possible to help change other visually- impaired people's lives."
In the last two years Scott and Travis have raised more than £40,000 through sponsored walks.
