centre to A kennel at Perry Barr in Birmingham is under threat of closure. The kennel known as the Greyhound Rescue Centre has been in existence for over 20 years.
Solihull Council, responsible for the Perry Barr area, received a number of noise complaints from locals who also filed an action for the closure of the kennel.
The kennel used to re-home dogs but became a Greyhound rescue centre when a local woman gave up a lucrative career to take care of the dogs.
Local dog owners and supporters of kennels have shown their regret at the closure of the kennel.
Jo Collins who got her dog from the rescue centre said, "I got my dog Brucey from them and he is the best pet ever, so loving gentle and obedient. We could not be without him."
Moreover, many dog lovers and supporters have put together a petition to appeal to the council to allow the continue operating.
