The Isle of Wight council is currently deciding whether or not to ban dogs within a 10 metre radius of any childrens playground. The decision is expected around 12th October, and is just one of several controversial proposals in the latest batch of Local Authority Dog Control Orders.
However, the controversial proposals arent limited to the Isle of Wight. Both Rochdale Council and the Isle of Wight council is also considering whether to ban dogs altogether in certain areas between April and October inclusively, whilst also pondering a move to make it illegal to let a dog off the lead in certain areas.
In Kensington and Chelsea, the Council is once again considering whether to restrict the number of dogs one person may walk. A Dog Control Order had been passed limiting the number to two dogs per person during any one walk, though opposition from local residents and Kennel Club Dog members forced the council to make a sharp reversal. A decision is expected on this issue in early November.
