A judge has ruled that a Rottweiler dog which attacked a nine year old girl must be destroyed. The attack occurred at a New Years Eve party at the girls neighbours house in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, and left the girl needing surgery on her facial injuries . The girl was rushed to Sheffield Childrens hospital following the incident and received plastic surgery .
The three year old dog called Bully was seized by police at the time and Judge John Foster at Rotherham Magistrates Court approved a police application for the dog to be put down. The dogs owner now has 21 days to appeal against the decision.
