A dog owner who lost three of her five pets in a house fire last year has gone on to see her other two dogs win trophies at Crufts . Gill Powell of Pevensey Bay in Sussex continued to train her two youngest Gordon Setters for Crufts – the two dogs she had taken out during which time her house set alight.
An electrical fault in the freezer resulted in Gill losing almost all of her possessions, as well as her three other Gordon Setters. It took three fire crews to put the fire out, though by that time it was too late for the dogs inside.
Whilst the pain of losing those dogs is still a vivid memory for Gill, the trophies for the brother and sister pair of Gordon Setters will offer some consolation, for the loss suffered during the fire in December last year.
