Former Partners Convicted Following Gruesome Dog Tale

Fri, 28 Mar 2008

A court has heard the gruesome tale of three dogs being abandoned by their owners, resulting in two of the dogs eating the third in other to survive. The two dog owners, former partners Jean-Marie Child and Kelvin Thomas Stubbs, had split with both claiming the other had moved out. However, the dogs were left in the house alone, and although the RSPCA were alerted to the pets, they were unable to enter the property despite making 13 attempts.

18 year old Child has previously been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, and is now subject to an 8pm to 8am curfew, whilst 21 year old Stubbs has been ordered to do 180 hours of community service. Both have been banned from keeping animals for life, whilst both must pay £500 in costs, as well as veterinary costs of £1,561.
