William Hill bookmakers have stopped taking bets on which dog will win the Best in Show award at Crufts following a flurry of activity. A utility dog who is viewed as an outsider to the title has received heavy backing from punters in the last two days, resulting in the bookies slashing odds from 13-2 to 2-1 prior to closing the bets. William Hill justified their decision to stop taking bets by suggesting a dog had entered the race who they were not aware of.
This years Crufts is set to be the second largest show in Crufts history, with 23,000 dogs expected to participate in the four day event. It is estimated that nearly 1,200 dogs from overseas will make the journey to participate in the event.
