Value of Pet Insurance Evidenced by Dog Attack

Fri, 18 Dec 2009

A man has learned the value of pet insurance just weeks before Christmas . 19 year old Liam Murphy from Barnstaple was walking his six year old dog Tilly when it was viciously attacked by two other dogs, which he believes were Staffordshire bull terriers . As a result of the attack Tilly has been left with serious cuts to her neck, chest and leg, which the vet described as some of the worst injuries she had ever seen.

The vets bills totalled £900 – a sum that Liam and his mother Clare would have struggled to pay. Fortunately for them, however, the bill will be covered by their pet insurance . Although the owner of the two pet dogs said they had never behaved so aggressively before, Clare and Liam have called for the owner of the two dogs to speak to a dog warden at North Devon Council. If the animals have attacked others pets such as Tilly so viciously, they fear that a child could be the victim in the future.

They say that Tilly has not been the same since the attack, and continues to receive treatment for her injuries.
