A dog and its owner have been injured following an attack by an Alsatian . Gary Mason from Knighton in Leicestershire was walking his Welsh terrier in Aylestone Park with his wife when the large Alsatian attacked his pet dog, called Buddy.
Mr Mason recalls how he saw a man walking two Alsatians at around 8:45am last Sunday, and claims neither of the dogs was on a lead. According to Mr Mason, one of the Alsatians darted across the park and quickly had Buddy pinned to the ground by his throat. Following the attack, the Alsatian’s owner voiced his shock at the incident and gave Mr Mason his name and details. However, since contacting the police, it emerged that the details the man gave were false.
Mr Mason sustained a bite to the hand from the animal, while Buddy has had to be fitted with a specialist tube to drain the fluid from his wounds, after he suffered a puncture wound to his throat and slashes along his side. 57 year old Mr Mason rushed Buddy to the vet, whilst he went to see the GP to have his wounds looked at and receive a tetanus jab.
