Dog Owners Boosted by Extra Pet Insurance Competition

Thu, 12 Aug 2010

Pet insurance provider Healthy Pets has announced that it is to expand its partnership with AXA . The insurance giant will now underwrite all of Healthy Pets pet insurance policies, in a move that is likely to bring added competition to the pet insurance market.

Healthy Pets is one of the UK’s fastest growing pet insurance providers . Founded in 1996, Healthy Pets offers a broad range of insurance policies, covering a wide selection of animals from exotic pets to household animals such as cats and dogs .

The move represents good news for pet owners in the UK, adding more competitive products to an already densely populated market. With fears that pet owners may abandon pet insurance policies as they look to make cutbacks in the midst of an economic downturn, pet insurance has become progressively cheaper in many instances, though vets and pet experts are warning animal owners to ensure they have the appropriate level of cover in order to avoid any nasty surprises.

Chief executive of Healthy Pets, Mark Effenberg, said he was delighted to extend the company’s partnership with AXA, and voiced his confidence that AXA would help Healthy Pets to continue to grow.
