Argos has increased its online discount on pet insurance policies from 5 per cent to 20 per cent. The retailer turned pet insurance provider is offering dog insurance from just £5.71 a month and cat insurance from £3.66 a month, with at least ten per cent of customers eligible for these prices. Further discounts are available for customers insuring multiple pets with Argos online, with an additional 10 per cent discount available on top of the existing 20 per cent discount for buying insurance online .
Argos offers a number of different types of pet insurance, and while many insurance companies restrict their pet insurance to dogs under eight years old, and cats under ten years old, Argos has no maximum upper age limit on its policies.
The increased discount is being offered at a time when an animal owner in London has received a reminder of the importance of having pet insurance, after her pet dog ate a nine centimetre lamb’s rib left in a bin after a family roast and incurred a hefty vets bill.
