One in five UK women chat more to their dog than their partner

Brits have revealed their sensitive side when it comes to caring for their pooches, reveals new research by Burgess Supadog Sensitive, a hypoallergenic dog food .

A survey of 2,000 dog owners revealed that 62 per cent of dog owners admit buying their pet gifts, 42 per cent take time off work to be with them when they’re ill, 36 per cent let them sleep on their bed and even with rising electricity costs, 34 per cent leave the television or radio on to keep them company for a few hours.

In addition, dog lovers across the UK enjoy talking to their dogs with around one in five women (18 per cent) admitting to speaking to their dog more often than their partner or husband.

Richard Rockett from Supadog Sensitive said: " It is clear we are a nation of dog lovers, but our research shows just how sensitive we are towards man’s best friend. Nothing is too much trouble to make sure out furry family member is contented and healthy . We share everything with our dogs, from our favourite television programme to musical preferences, and we’re not afraid of showing real affection for our favourite companion."
