The pet insurance provider Petplan is to launch this year’s Petplan Junior Stakes qualifying round at the Bath Canine General Championship Show, which runs from 27 May – 30 May 2011.

The Petplan Junior Stakes, which is now in its 17th year, has established itself as a popular UK dog showing competition for dogs and bitches across the UK, aged between 6 and 18 months old, and the four qualifying shows culminate in a final show where a total of 28 dogs will contend for the title.

The show offers free entry to visitors and will be providing seminars and demonstrations to help educate visitors about dog shows . It will also promote the importance of canine health and welfare and a crèche is available to enable pet owners to leave their dogs while they enjoy the show.

Petplan’s Communications Manager Carl Stephens said: "We are delighted to be working with the Bath Canine Society this year. I have no doubt this year’s Petplan Junior Stakes will be bigger and better than ever."
