Dog owner offers GBP10k reward for stolen pet

A pet owner has re-mortgaged her home in order to offer a larger reward of £10,000 for the return of her stolen show dog.

Dawn Maw of Cawthorne, South Yorkshire, lost her pooch Angel when she was taken from a car park last month by the driver of a white van, while she was getting her other three dogs out of her vehicle.

Friends then helped her to put up 15,000 posters of the dog, who is a German short-haired pointer, around her home town and distributed 35,000 business cards, setting her back around £3,000.

Ms Maw, who has now taken out an extra £7,000 on the mortgage of her three-bed detached house to boost the reward fund to £10,000, said she increased the amount because of how desperate she is to get her beloved pet back.

She added: “The reward will be for her safe return or for information that leads directly to her. It will be paid in cash and I have no issues with that, I am simply determined to find her. I just want Angel back.”
