New dog app tracks exercise routines

A new app has been created that can help owners keep track of how active their dogs are.

Pet Tracker technology from Tagg tells people how long their pooches sleep for during the day, while also informing them of the intensity of their exercise routines, the Daily Mail reports.

The dog tag compiles the data and individuals are then able to use an interactive chart detailing any patterns of behaviour the canine has developed over a 30-day period.

An inbuilt accelerometer is used to monitor a dog’s movement, with the Tagg being a small device that can be clipped onto a collar and is water resistant.

Included in the Pet Tracker kit is a docking station, which is positioned in the home and uses wireless GPS technology to make sure four-legged friends are monitored at all times.

While the kit only covers a digital perimeter set up by the owner in which they expect their animal to stay, they will be notified by text or email of the pet ventures out of this area.
