Pets at Home supports dog charity

UK retailer Pets at Home has announced a new partnership with the Dogs Trust charity.

The new deal will see the high-street store provide £2 million worth of Wainwrights dog food to the foundation over the next three years.

Although Dogs Trust has extensive financial support from the British public, it sometimes struggles to find the budget to feed its pets the nutritious, balanced diet that they need – so this new donation from the retailer has been welcomed with open arms.

Now, because of the charitable deal, each person walking away from a rehoming centre with a canine in tow will be given a free 2kg bag of Wainwrights – normally worth £6.99.

Nick Wood, chief executive of Pets at Home, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to provide Dogs Trust with Wainwrights food over the next three years as we’re dedicated to pet adoption and want to ensure abandoned dogs are kept healthy and happy.”

This isn’t the first time that Pets at Home and the Dogs Trust have worked together. The retailer previously launched three in-store advice and adoption service desks in conjunction with the charity at its Barnstaple, Birstall and Telford outlets.
