The Cairn Terrier is one of the oldest of the terrier breeds, originating in the Scottish Highlands and is one of Scotland’s earliest working dogs. It is used for hunting and burrowing prey among the cairns. They are usually left-pawed which has been shown in dogs to correlate to superior performance in tasks related to scent. Cairn Terriers are ratters and in Scotland they would search the cairns (man-made pile of stones) for rats and other rodents. If one is kept as a household pet it will do the job of a cat, specifically catching and killing mice, rabbits, and squirrels. The Cairn Terrier clipper Set offers the complete solution to clipping your dog at home. This set combines the popular Masterclip Pedigree Pro dog clipper with a range of high quality German steel clipper blades. The number 10F blade cuts to 1.6mm and is ideal for short cut trimming around the face, feet and back end for sanitation purposes. Two longer cut blades for the body are also included, a 7 skip tooth which cuts to 3mm and a 5 skip tooth blade that will leave approximately 6mm of hair on your dog. Ideal blades for summer and winter clipping. There are two types of clipping blades available in most of the cutting depths, the F blade and the Skip Tooth. An F blade has a full row of teeth and gives a sharp finished cut that works well after using a skip tooth blade. The teeth on a skip tooth blade are spread further apart which allows a thick or wiry coat into the cutting head of the clipper, which makes this a great blade to use on a Cairn Terrier.
