The Mayhew Animal Home

The Mayhew Animal Home is situated in London and serves to re-home animals who have suffered neglect or abuse, or who have been picked up off the streets. They aim for a society in which animals are treated and cared for with respect.

The charity costs over £6,000 per day to run, all of which comes directly from public donations.

That money goes into transforming the lives of up to 30 dogs on a day to day basis, alongside 150 cats.

As well as re-homing and foster care schemes, the Mayhew Animal Home offers low cost microchipping, vaccinations and neutering, all of which help to prevent animals from having poor lives, reducing illness and overpopulation.

Furthermore, the Home runs an emergency pet refuge system, where they can take in animals of people in crisis, to make sure that their animals are looked after while they are suffering some form of emergency.
